Small business owners in the Alexandrina Council area can now access one-on-one support through a dedicated Business Support Officer.

Amanda Hunt from the Office for Small and Family Business has been appointed under South Australia’s Small Business Strategy 2023-2030.

Funded by the South Australian Government, Amanda can provide a personalised service by connecting you to programs, grants and funding, tools and resources to help you start, run or grow your business.

Born and raised in the Fleurieu, Amanda recently returned to the region after living and working in Adelaide and interstate.

As a Business Support Officer, Amanda provides tailored services to small and family businesses, connecting you to information, support and resources that will help you start, run and grow your business.

Amanda also works with local industry groups and councils, regional chambers of commerce and Regional Development Australia to gather information and advocate the needs of businesses to inform the development of future government programs and initiatives.

Growing up in her family-owned bakeries throughout the Fleurieu, and the IGA supermarket in Strathalbyn, Amanda understands the unique challenges and opportunities of owning a small business.

Over the past ten years, Amanda has focused her efforts on business management, marketing and consultancy roles across the agri-food industry. Her achievements include establishing new brands for start-up businesses and driving ground-floor sales, merchandising and operations for high-end food and beverage producers and exporters across Australia.

Amanda has extensive experience in and knowledge of the accommodation, hospitality, food and wine, tourism, and training industries.

Amanda is a strong supporter of local businesses and passionate about Fleurieu life– from the rolling hills and picturesque valleys to the pristine coastline, wineries and culinary experiences.
